 1 Aims and Scope

Molecular Entomology is committed to publishing and disseminating all the latest and outstanding research articles, letters, and reviews in all areas of molecular entomology. All papers chosen for publication should be innovative research work in the related field, including genome structure of insects, gene expression and their function analysis, molecular evolution, molecular ecology, molecular genetics, insect physiology and biochemistry and other topical advisory subjects.

 

The primary criterion for publication is new insights that are not only of broad interest to entomologist, geneticist, and molecular biologists, but are also appropriate for teachers or students or researchers engaged in biology, and readers interested in molecular entomology.

 

2 Manuscripts Submission

2.1 Online submission

Manuscripts must be submitted to Molecular Entomology electronically by EmtoSci Publisher online submission system. In cases that online submission system is not available; you can submit your manuscript to the submission email of Molecular Entomology: edit@me.emtoscipublisher.com. If both of the above ways do not work out, you can directly send your manuscripts to service@SophiaPublisher.com. The editors will handle your submission within five working days.

 

Preferred file formats of manuscripts are Microsoft Word and Rich Text Format (RTF). Figures, tables, movies, and raw data can be submitted as supplementally files.

 

A cover letter must be submitted along with the manuscript during the submission, which should contain a brief explanation of what was previously known, the conceptual advance provided by the findings, and the importance of the findings to a broad readership, as well as how and why their major findings relate to the scope of the journal. Closely related papers submitted elsewhere or in press should be noted in the cover letter and uploaded as additional supplementally files in the online submission system. The cover letter is confidential to the editor and will not be seen by reviewers.

 

2.2 Corresponding author

The full name, the contact information, and e-mail address of the corresponding author should be provided. We take the corresponding author as the responsible author, which means that the corresponding author accepts such a responsibility: The corresponding author must warrant that all co-authors have read and approved the authorship of the manuscript, the content of the paper, and its submission to ME. Official approval of all original authors must be provided before any changes in authorship. All reasonable demands on the necessary materials and methods which can justify the experimental results must be satisfied. Please inform the editorial office if the contact information of the corresponding author changes after submission.

 

3 Article processing

Scientists all over the world are invited to be as peer reviewers for this journal. All submission will be automatically transferred online to the reviewers by Manuscript Proceeding System in the EmtoSci Publisher prior to CrossRef's plagiarism check.

 

Molecular Entomology offers a fast publication schedule whilst maintaining rigorous peer review. Normally the publication period is four to six weeks depend on the speed of peer review. Using the recommended manuscript preparation formats will largely speed up the paper procedures and shorten the periods. Research articles will be published electronically in provisional PDF immediately upon acceptance. A fully structured web version and PDF download version will be uploaded within four weeks after acceptance.

 

Molecular Entomology is affiliated with other biology journals published by EmtoSci Publisher, including Genomics and Applied Biology and other journals. If referees judge that a manuscript is sound but not of special interest and therefore not appropriate for Molecular Entomology, the referee reports can be shared with other journals published by EmtoSci Publisher. Transferring a manuscript from one journal to another will not incur delays. Conversely, if a manuscript submitted to a sister journal in the EmtoSci Publisher series is judged to be of exceptional interest by the referees and editors. We may offer publication in Molecular Entomology.

 

4 Article-processing Charges

Molecular Entomology levies an article-processing charge for every accepted article to cover the costs incurred by open access publication. Article-processing charge for all EmtoSci Publisher journals are in uniform. EmtoSci Publisher standard article-processing charge is Canadian dollar 1200 CAD (US dollar $1200), which has no any tax fee included. Authors from low-income countries and areas or having financial difficulties can apply the discount for APC upon submission and if the authors are qualified to be waived they don't necessarily pay the APC. Payment for APC in this Journal should be made to Sophia Publishing Group Inc. Payment procedure will be informed upon submission acceptance.
